Transition Services
Students and their families work closely with teachers and CES vocational transition specialists to design and implement individual transition plans. Transition planning must begin "not later that the first I.E.P. to be in effect when the child turns 16, or younger if determined appropriate.
Transition planning looks at a student's strengths, interests, and preferences to create a plan for a student's future. Transition goals are developed as part of student's IEP through the process of a Planning Placement Team (PPT) meeting. Transition planning areas include:
